2004-09-10 [Wuppertal /Germany]
So we were back in Germany. This time we visited Wuppertal
in the northwestern part of Germany. A very fascinating town. The whole city was
located in a narrow valley. The valley was so narrow so it was difficult to build
roads through it. Because of this they had built something similar to a cableway
or an upside/down railroad with hanging trains to transport people through the
different corners of the city. AnKa (Ann-Kathrin), Manuel and Mandy who guided
us in the city claimed that this solution was over 100 years old.
On the posters and flyers announcing our concert you were promised "Rock
Aus Schweden" (Rock from Sweden). Without really knowing what they expected
out of this we made all we could to make sure that the audience would get a nice
image of swedish rockmusic. The germans showed no dissapointment over our version
of swedish rockmusic. They jumped, clapped their hands, sang along and the athmosphere
was great! A group of youths who had travelled for 2,5 hours to hear us sang along
in the songs aswell. You could during the evening buy something in the café
which was decorated with swedish flags.
In the evening when the concert was finished and the café was closed we
relaxed in Elisabeth's apartment where we could sum up the evening by saying that
this was a great gig!
We had before the trip heard that the first singer in the german
rockband Helloween had quit the band to start a christian german pop-band. We
tried to ask people during our stay in Germany if this was correct and also
to find out the name of his new band. No-one knew anything about this. If someone
can help us in this case you can contact us at david@kitemusic.net..
Big thanks you's to:(Ein grosses Vielen Dank!) AnKa, David,
Mandy, Manuel, Elisabeth, Julian and all of you who visited our concert. Hope
to see you soon again.
