20040131 - Promikon (Germany)
After a bumpy ride in an airplane we put our feets on
foreign ground. We met a windy Germany and also people from the Promikon-fair.
We had the band Remission and Niklas and Frippe Eliasson (owners of our booking-company
Dot-Music) as company on the trip. We splitted up the big group into three different
cars for the transport from Hahn (Frankfurt) to Giessen.
The fair was arranged in a school. In the different auditoriums of the scools
scenes had been built up and the corridors were filled with different booths where
record-companies, festivals, bans and many more could be found.
Pretty soon it was time for Remission to enter the stage. They made a convincing
concert and many people visited our booth after the concert. Someone did though
complain that the singer Samuel was recognizable compared to the poster. We said
that he now has beard and offered us to paint some beard on his picture on the
poster. The girls did anyway think that he looked better without beard. Conclusion
no.1: German girls prefer well-shaved men.
It was interesting walking around on the fair, talking to organizations, companies
and bands, but also to listen to the different performances that was made during
the day. Conclusion no.2: In Germany there are more bands than Kraftwerk and Helloween.
Before our performance I was very nervous. To play in a foreign country at a big
stage in front of 1500 persons and make a good impression in 20 minutes felt tough.
No bad surprises was allowed. When we had entered the stage everything wen't perfect.
The audience seemed to like us and clapped and singed with us in our four songs.
Afterwards we sold a lot of CD:s and T-shirts. Great that so many liked our music
even though they already had such a godd music available in the german bands.
Something i've previously had herad about Germany is that everyone proudly wears
a hockey-hairdo. That kind of haircut when the hair on top of the head is really
short but the neck is covered with long hair. Good for Ice-hockeyplayers that
wants longer hair. But this prejudice was wrong. I didn't see anyone of the 3000
visitors wearing this hairdo. Conclusion no.3: All germans doesn't have hockey-hairdo.
Thanks to all of you who listened to us and supported us at Promikon. We hope
to get back to Germany soon. God Bless You!
