2004-03-28 [Härryda]
Airplane after airplane flew over our heads as we carried
our equipment into the church in Härryda right outside the Landvetter Airport
(Gothenburg’s airport). It felt almost like Christmas when I saw “Hosanna
in excelsis” on the altars painting. It means “Glory to God in heaven”.
We really hoped that the music would honour God this evening.
When all our equipment was installed and the soundcheck was made we felt hungry
and drove to the local pizzeria. The waiter received our orders without writing
anything at all. We just had to trust that our 6 orders were stored somewhere
among the waiters braincells. When had been waiting a bit too long for our food
we thought that it might be that way, but after a while each one of us got the
dish we had chosen.
A bit delayed from the pizzeria we started the concert. The audience had a wide
range of different ages. From the young candidates for confirmation who had taken
a break from the studies of the bible to the elderly faithful service-visitors
who never would miss a a service not even for a snowstorm.
The ambition to honour God and give a good concert felt achieved. Even the audience
was pleased. Read this comment from our Guestbook: “Hi!! This Sunday I was
in the church in Härryda and listened to Kite!! You are great!! The best
music-style I know!”. Thanks for that.
Thanks for a nice Sunday evening!
Gloria! Hosanna in excelsis!
