20030912 - Landskyrkan [Alingsås]
After two weekends without gigs it felt almost unfamiliar
to come to a gig. When we started to pick up our instruments I tried to remember
the songs, afraid to have forgotten them. On the soundcheck we discovered that
the songs were there in the back of our heads.
Landskyrkan in Alingsås is a really old-fashioned church including graveyards,
painted ceilings and a platform 3 meters up where the priest can hold his preaches.
With a few candles and a couple of swords any Death-Metal-band would have done
anything in the world to play there. When the lights and sound-equipment was rigged
the doorkeeper had difficulties to recognize his church among all the loudspeakers,
lamps and backdrops.
Now it was time to start the show. On the concert we except for the music also
provided a message of hope, the day after the swedish foreign-minister Anna Lindh
had deceased after being stabbed by a knife.
After a fast unrig and packing of the cars the church looked like before and the
doorkeeper could breath easily again.
